Tentative Day-wise Plan
Day 01: Cochin to Munnar (140 Kms /4 hrs )
Arrive at Cochin Airport. Meet with our Driver; Drive to Munnar –a breathtakingly beautiful haven of peace and tranquility. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft. in Idukki district, Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. On arrival check into your hotel. Enjoy a stroll through the Munnar town – Unending expanse of tea plantations – pristine valleys and mountains – exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests – aroma of spice scented cool air. Visit Mattupetty Lake and dam. Back to hotel for Overnight stay.
Day 02: Munnar
After breakfast Proceed on a tour visiting Eravikulam park. The park has the largest known population of Tahrs existing in the world. The park also shelters Atlas Moth, Elephants, Sambhars, Gaurs, Lion-tailed Macaque and Nilgiri Langur. Later visit Tea museum The Tata Tea Museum diligently portrays the growth of Munnar tea estates, veritably conveyed through some of the displays like the rudimentary tea roller to the modern fully automated tea factory. Overnight stay.
Day 03:Munnar to Periyar(120 kms / 31/2 hrs)
Breakfast at hotel. Drive through the long and windy roads, arrive Periyar- one of the best-known wild life Centers in India and picturesque with unending Chains of hills and spice-scented plantations. Thekkady is, India’s largest wildlife sanctuary and spread over an area of 777 Sq.Kms, surrounded by an artificial lake over an area of 25 Sq.Kms. After noon you can go cruising on lake periyar to watch the wild life at close quarters. You can sight Asian elephants, bison, sambar deer, boars, wild squirrels, lion tailed monkeys etc. Evening free for a stroll through the spice town of Kumily. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: Thekkady – Alleppey( 150kms/4 1/2 hrs)
Breakfast. Drive downhill to Alleppey and embark your private houseboat. These boats are a reworked version of Rice Boats of olden times, once used to carry tons of rice and spices. They are today converted into comfortable floating accommodation offering enchanting cruises through the backwaters. Cruise through the palm fringed canals enjoying the beauty of rural village life. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch on board. By evening, houseboat will anchor ashore. Dinner & Overnight stay on board.
Day 05: Alleppey – Kovalam (190 kms/5 hrs)
After breakfast check out your hotel and drive to jatayupark.The giant concentrate statue of Jatayu is built on a mighty rock named jatayupara (para means rock in local language).the colossal statue is 200 feet long, 150 feet wide and 70 feet making is the largest functional bird sculpture in the world with an enter into the Guinness book of world records.drive to Kovalam. Over night at hotel….
Day 06: Kovalam – cape- kovalam. (86.8 km/2 h 36 min)
After breakfast, Drive to Kanyakumari.Kanyakumari is a coastal town in the state of Tamil Nadu on India’s southern tip. Jutting into the Laccadive Sea, the town was known as Cape Comorin during British rule and is popular for watching sunrise and sunset over the ocean. It’s also a noted pilgrimage site thanks to its Bagavathi Amman Temple, dedicated to a consort of Shiva, and its Our Lady of Ransom Church, a centre of Indian Catholicism.Come back to kovalam and enjoy the beach. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 07: Kovalam departure
Check out after breakfast and transfer to airport to to connect your flight back home from Thiruvanthapuram.
