Tsomgo Lake, Sikkim

Also famous as the Changu Lake, the Tsomgo Lake provides an unreal view of the rugged mountains. The lake is situated at a height of 12,400 ft. and looks different around the year. In late springs, the lakeside is covered with flowers in bloom while in winter, it is frozen solid.

There are numerous legends and myths associated with the lake which are very significant for Buddhist monks and Sikkim’s faith healers. Tawang Monastery, Arunachal Pradesh

The Tawang Monastery is also known as the Golden Namgyal Lhatse. It is the largest monastery in Inda and the second largest in the world as it is 10,000 feet tall. The monastery offers a panoramic view of the entire Tawang River Valley. It is one of the best views you will ever see.

For traveling to North-East, you need to get an ILP (for Indian Nationals and Foreign Nationals) and PAP (For Foreign Nationals) for a few states because of its strategic and sensitive locations bordering with Bhutan, China, and Myanmar.

The government has modified some rules to promote North-East tourism in the region. However, you will still need to check the state’s permit information before you plan your trip.

No permits are required to visit Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura. Apart from these states, other northeastern states like Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim require ILP for Indian tourists and PAP for Foreign Nationals. While traveling to Mizoram, Manipur, and Nagaland, Foreign nationals need to get themselves registered at the local Foreigner Registration Office (FRO) of the district within 24 hours of their arrival.
