Khajuraho Erotic Temples

The Khajuraho Erotic Temples are easily one of the top tourist attractions in India. This is the place where you will see 20 temples filled with erotic sculptures. This is a real-life proof that Kama Sutra was originated in India.

These sculptures showcase celebration of life, love, and worship.

Bandhavgarh National Park

The Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the top national parks in India. It is difficult to reach, and you will have to spend a significant amount to get there. But this is the best place to see tigers in the wild in India.

The park has lush green valleys and a rocky hill terrain. It also hosts an ancient fort. Other than tigers, the park has a huge variety of wildlife such as sloth bears, jackals, leopards, and deer.

Kanha National Park

Kanha National Park is yet another beautiful destination that has been the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel, “The Jungle Book”. It has lots of saal and bamboo forests, streams, open grasslands etc. This makes it a perfect destination for tourists who want to explore the wilderness.

You can see tigers, swamp deer and an extensive variety of other wildlife animals and birds. The park offers an all-round experience of nature. It is also quite famous for its research and conservation programs. A lot of endangered species have been saved here.

Gwalior

The best thing about Gwalior is that it is so accessible. It is only a 2 hours' drive from Agra and the Taj Mahal in Uttar Pradesh. The major attraction of Gwalior is the massive hilltop Gwalior fort that towers above the city.

It has the reputation of the most invincible forts in India that has a history of over 100 years. There are numerous palaces and temples inside the fort. The main attraction inside is the Man Mandir Palace. Below the fort sits the old town of Gwalior which offers a great insight into history and showcases fine examples of Mughal architecture. The famous tomb of Tansen is also situated here.

In honor of the legendary singer, The Tansen Music Festival is held here every December.

Orchha

Situated on the banks of Betwa River, Orchha is at a distance of 1.5 hours from Gwalior. It is a peaceful place full of well-preserved palaces and temples. This gives the destination a medieval charm.

Three main palaces are enclosed in Orchha. The Jahangir Mahal is a must visit attraction here. The upper levels of the mahal offers a mind-boggling panoramic view. Tourists can also stay inside the Jahangir Mahal, which is a government run hotel but is full of character.

Bhopal

The capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal is a vibrant destination filled with wonders. The city offers two main attractions – the mosques and the museums.

The Tribal Museum is one of the most fascinating museums which showcases the tribes of the region and their lives. The Taj Ul Masjid, Jama Masjid, and Moti Masjid are some great examples of the city’s rich Islamic heritage.

The city also hosts two beautiful lakes, the upper lake and the lower lake within the city limits.

One of India’s little-known Bhimbetka rock shelters is situated about an hour from Bhopal inside Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary.

There are more than 700 ancient rock shelters there that date back to the paleolithic age. Many of them still have paintings on the walls.

Sanchi Stupa

Situated at the northeast of Bhopal, Sanchi Stupa is one of India’s oldest Buddhist monuments and a UNESCO world heritage site. It was built by Emperor Ashoka in 262 BC after he decided to practice Buddhism and Non-Violence. This was after the horrific war of Kalinga. This is a must have location on your Madhya Pradesh Tavel package.

The complex includes various stupas, temples, monasteries, relics and pillars. Tourists also love visiting the archeological museum. The Sanchi Stupa can be visited on a day trip from Bhopal. Tourists also love staying here as it is convenient for a variety of other side trips.

Malwa Region Golden Triangle

Situated in the southwest portion of the state. The golden triangle comprises of Ujjain, Mandu, and Omkareshwar. Ujjain holds its importance as one of Hinduism’s seven sacred cities. It is home to the Mahakaleswar temple which has one of India’s 12 sacred Jyotirlingams.

Mandu used to be the royal home of Mughals who enjoyed the lakes and palaces in this area. Mandu’s crumbling buildings are encircled by a long 45-kilometer wall with 12 gates. Even today it gives you a hint of the grand past it had.

Omkareshwar is an island on the Narmada River. It is said to appear as a symbol ‘Om’ when viewed from above. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingam sites which makes it a holy destination for devotees.

Satpura National Park

The chances of your seeing a tiger is very low in the Satpura National Park, however, it is an excellent place to spend your time in nature without the intervention of the outside world. Any Madhya Pradesh Travel Package is incomplete without this destination.

Satpura National Park is one of the few protected forests in India where visitors are allowed. The Duchess Falls Trail is a challenging activity, but it ends with a dip in the fresh waterfall.
